Deployment Homecoming --- the nerves, the excitement, THE day has arrived. Seeing your spouse after they have been away for months. Knowing the risks, the danger. Keeping America safe. I honestly can't imagine what it is like for our military families when a deployment is looming (while I was born on a military base, my family is not currently in the military) how as the countdown to the day looms, what they go through daily. I thank each and everyone of you for your service to our country.
Ah, but the homecoming: anticipation, excitement...the plane has arrived, the soldier's leaving the plane, seeing him (or her) after months away, the first hug! There is really nothing better (oh geez, I am tearing up while typing this!) It was my honor to be included in the homecoming at Davis Monthan this past week. Many of our soldier's returned and it was so wonderful to be a very small part of it.
Waiting for the plane to arrive....
It's here, we see it!
