Just a bit over 2 weeks ago I left early in the morning and drove up to Surprise, Arizona to do a 1:1 mentoring session with Cherise Kiel Photography (Precious Beginnings Newborn Workshops) so that I could get more experience working with newborns and learn some tips/techniques that I hadn't yet had the opportunity to try. Most importantly learning to do it safely! We had two fantastic newborn models; a little girl who was 6 days old and an adorable newborn boy who was 16 days old (I believe) and his almost 3 year old brother. All three of them were fantastic!
First up is the little girl. Slept the whole time and was oh so cute!
This is a composite. Cherise and I took turns holding the bottom of the sling (so baby was in our hands) and doing photoshop magic, ta da, one perfect baby image.
After we had lunch our 2nd little model showed up with his adorable older brother! and now that I wasn't so incredibly nervous I was able to actually take more pictures and have them turn out so much better! :)
Cherise and I posed him and he dropped his little leg off the side. We both thought that was just too cute, so left him that way. Cherise had just gotten the bed delivered (literally) so she put it together quickly and it was used!
another adorable prop....
and big brother holding his new brother....
Soon after our last model of the day showed up. A beautiful lady named Tina. We did an outdoor maternity shoot with her; Cherise showed me how to tie the material on and wow, it makes for stunning pictures, doesn't it?
This is one of my favorites!
I had a great day learning from Cherise and highly recommend her, either as a 1:1 Mentoring or a workshop. She was easy to talk to and a great teacher. Was willing to answer any question.
